Pep Guardiola swooped in quickly and delivered an inspired signing which now makes City a force to reckon with, in the attacking department. Don Balon, the Spanish publication has claimed that FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been left fuming as the Argentine wanted Silva at Camp Nou next season but with City’s quick business ending that opportunity, Messi has been left dejected with the club officials....

The Swedish forward and longtime Senators captain announced his retirement Thursday to reporters at the Canadian Tire Centre. Alfredsson, 41, played 1,178 of his 1,246 career NHL games in Ottawa. He signed with Detroit prior to last season and played in 68 games with the Red Wings, scoring 18 goals and 49 points. The Senators signed Alfredsson to a one-day contract so he can skate in pregame warm-ups with the team one final time....
