PAX Prime 2011 will once again provide expo ground for many big name companies - 2k Games will be returning (after originally unveiling a playable Duke Nukem Forever), Activision, Bioware, Capcom, Microsoft, NCsoft and Turbine will also be making their appearance known on the expo floor. Not just limited to video games, PAX Prime has also catered to the analog world of tabletop games and CCGs. Wizards of the Coast and Privateer Press will be there to represent the old ways of dice and cards.
Something brand new to this year’s PAX Prime will be Halo Fest, an event sponsored by Microsoft, that will be taking up the third floor annex of the Washington State Convention Center. What is Halo Fest? The largest and most expansive Halo experience. Halo Fest details have been made available previously.
What’s PAX without musical guests? There will also be a great assortment of artists that fans should be familiar with, some that are making their first PAX appearance - and few that will even surprise you. The line up of musicians?
Previous attendees of PAX will have most likely seen the first five acts once or twice, but as stated, Supercommuter and the Video Game Orchestra will be making their first appearance for adoring fans. For those wondering what kind of music Supercommuter puts on, they are an “8-bit science fiction hip-hop band.” If that’s not something that creates an aural lust, what can?
Obviously, PAX Prime is gearing up to be another huge event - that should make all attendees happy. What’s that? You wanted to get in this year? YOU CAN’T! It’s already sold out! Why all the big hullabaloo over something like this? Check out our interview with show director Robert Khoo
PAX Prime 2011 will begin on August 26 and end on August 28, 2011.
