The Raiders wide receiver was handed a loss on Sunday vs. the Chiefs, but cameras were still rolling and caught the wide receiver shoving a photographer following the game.

Adams apologized for the incident following the game, but the photographer clearly didn’t accept it. On Wednesday, Ryan Zebley, the photographer, filed criminal charges against Adams for the shove.

MORE: The incident that sparked the controversy around Davante Adams

While the NFL is reviewing the matter, it’s unclear when any potential discipline may come down for the Raiders wide receiver; with law enforcement and legal proceedings now involved, the NFL may opt to wait until the situation is cleared of court before levying a punishment.

Here’s what we know about the incident:

Davante Adams misdemeanor assault charge

On Wednesday, a police report surrounding Adams’ shove filed with the Kansas City Police Department surfaced; it was filed by Ryan Zebley, the photographer who was pushed by Adams following Monday night’s Raiders-Chiefs matchup.

The plaintiff suffered non-life threatening injuries in response to the shove. The police report details the incident and the damage done:

According to the filing, a court date is set for Nov. 10.

If the case ends up going to court and Adams is convicted, then fines and jail time are both a possibility.

Will Davante Adams be suspended?

While the NFL has yet to address the situation publicly, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says that the league is reviewing the situation and that a suspension is on the table. Ian Rapoport reports that the NFL isn’t treating the matter urgently.

It’s unclear what a fine or suspension for shoving non-player personnel would be. It’s also unclear when a decision might come from the NFL.

While a suspension was already on the table for Adams, since law enforcement is now involved, the NFL may wait for the legal proceedings to play out, in accordance with the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.

If Adams isn’t slapped with a suspension, then there’s a good chance he’ll be fined for shoving the person to the ground. Time on the commissioner’s exempt list is also a possibility.

The Raiders are on a bye week before returning to the field in Week 7 to face off against the Texans.
