Slayers need every bit of help they can get to take down Behemoths in Dauntless. This co-op action RPG has players undertake hunts to find and defeat these monsters, but taking down fearsome foes isn’t the only activity that players can partake in. Amongst the player’s possible activities is tracking down Deathmarks. Since these collectibles appear 10 at a time in random locations in the hub town of Ramsgate, finding them can be a bit tricky. Here’s everything the player needs to know about these elusive collectibles.

What Deathmarks Do

Deathmarks are easy to spot in Dauntless, which is fortunate because they’re scattered at random locations around the town, which can make tracking them down tricky in the beginning. Deathmarks are a daily collectible, granting the player points towards the season’s Hunt Pass, helping the player advance toward the next rank and giving them something to do between tracking down orbs and slaying monsters.

There are a variety of ways to gain Hunt Pass experience, including completing hunts, collecting materials, and staggering Behemoths. Collecting Deathmarks is worthwhile because the player is awarded with 50 experience for finding all 10 Deathmarks. It takes 100 EXP to level up, so collecting the Deathmarks is a free half level improvement, which is a good payout considering how little time and effort it takes to find them all.

Where To Find Deathmarks

Deathmarks are kunai that the player will find impaled in various objects around Ramsgate. They glow red and are surrounded by an aura of twinkling lights, so they’re all but impossible to miss once the player is close enough, making them much easier to get than Arcstone.

If all else fails, the player can always just climb to the highest vantage point in Ramsgate and look around, as the tell-tale shine of Deathmarks can often be easily spotted from there. Usually running around Ramsgate at street level, turning one’s camera examine each area fully as one explores, is enough to spot all 10 Deathmarks with plenty of time left to start a hunt.

Sometimes, however, Deathmarks will be above street level, requiring the player to climb up to a bridge or otherwise ascend in order to find the last Deathmark they need. Finding Deathmarks is a lot easier than beating the game’s hardest Behemoths, but it can still be frustrating. Players who want to eliminate any uncertainty can look for Deathmarks at any of these random spawn locations:

Against the wall to the player’s right, where the player first spawns in Ramsgate. Beside Katerin Sorrel in the square. On the side of the building reached by climbing the stairs near Katerin. On a wall outside the tavern. On a pillar near the Behemoth Expert. On a wall in the alley near the Behemoth Expert. By the entrance to the alleyway just up the steps from the previous Deathmark. On a ledge opposite the pervious Deathmark (use the nearby crate to reach it). On a ledge just beyond and to the left of the previous Deathmark (accessible by jumping). At the bottom of the steps just beyond the deck (near the previous Deathmark). On the steps just below the previous Deathmark. By the tree with white blossoms. On the wall of one of a shop near the tree with white blossoms. Between the two sets of steps to the west of the tree with white blossoms. In a wall reached by ascending the wooden set of stairs featured in the previous Deathmark hint and then a second set of wooden stairs. On a roof near the previous Deathmark location (reached by leaping through the gap in the railings). On a pillar near the Aethersmith. On a wall at the top of the stairs near the Armorsmith. On a building reached by proceeding straight ahead from the previous Deathmark location (it’s on the left side). Beneath a lamp on the same path as the previous Deathmark. On a wall a short distance down the path from the previous Deathmark. Against a pillar down the steps and to the right of the previous Deathmark.
