Marvel’s Daredevil did not procure any traction as a rumored leak, however, before Marvel’s Wolverine was officially announced. Today, the almost two-year-old leak has resurfaced with today’s announcement of Marvel’s partnership with Skydance New Media.

Because Daredevil was included in the same rumor thread as Marvel’s Wolverine, fans believe that this further corroborates its legitimacy. Interestingly, the leak claims that the rumored Daredevil game would be multi-platform and not console-exclusive. Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man has been a console-exclusive series and Marvel’s Wolverine is set to follow suit. But because the rumored Daredevil game would supposedly be free of exclusivity restraints, it may further support the deduction that Insomniac has no part in it.
Further, the leak describes the alleged Daredevil game as a “singleplayer narrative-focused game”, which is a key characteristic in Skydance New Media’s vision statement. Other descriptions in the rumored leak propose that the Daredevil game would have an “echolocation type mode” comparable to the Batman: Arkham series’ Detective Mode which would allow for similar mechanics, and that free roam throughout the game’s open world would be “only allowed at night” with “barely any missions” taking place during the day.
There has been confusion concerned with the supposed leak stating that the game would be set in a “modern-day Chicago” rather than the character’s infamous home of Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan. This note has caused some fans to argue that the strange specificity of the game’s location may point toward it featuring a character other than Daredevil, even if the rumor’s thread may have dealt with early development notes at the time.
Troy Baker’s subtle and cryptic Daredevil post also added fuel to the rumor’s fire earlier this year, though it’s unclear whether the actor’s input was meant to simply demonstrate his excitement for such a project or tease his involvement in it. Regardless, fans and talent alike may be anticipating a Daredevil game announcement through each new developer and publisher partnership with Marvel in the future. But until confirmed announcements are made, the rumored leak has yet to be substantiated further with regard to an alleged Daredevil title.
