Daniel Way (for anyone puzzled as to who exactly this man is) is a Marvel comic book writer who’s currently working on Deadpool (Vol. 2). Way first began work on the series back in 2008, and there isn’t a better candidate for the job in the eyes of comic readers. Deadpool aficionados who were still a little skeptical of the game’s debut trailer can now rest a little easier knowing that the authenticity of the comedic ne’er-do-well will remain intact.

High Moon Studios head Peter Della Penna confirmed Daniel Way’s involvement in a press release that was written by none other than Deadpool himself.

Truly humbling words, indeed.

Having Way write the script means good things are in store for anyone who’s up to date with the ongoing line of comics. At the very least, it looks as if the Deadpool game will be doing a real fan service for anyone who’s been following the misadventures of Wade Wilson; let’s just hope it’s as much fun to play as it is to read the comics.

Deadpool is set to launch at some point in 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
