In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Williams spoke about drawing attention to the strawweight division, and how competitors like Jarred Brooks and Gustavo Balart are good for the exposure.
Strawweight champion Jarred Brooks has never been afraid to say what’s on his mind. He could meet a like-minded individual down the line in the very confident Gustavo Balart, who is on a three-fight win streak.

Though his year may have ended on a loss, Danial Williams can take a lot of positives out of 2022.
Over the past 12 months, ‘Mini T’ focused on climbing the strawweight ranks in MMA to get himself into position for a title shot. Whilst that didn’t quite happen after he lost to Jeremy Miado at ONE on Prime Video 3, Williams did pick up three consecutive wins earlier on in the year.
Whilst he could easily sit and be disappointed that his great year ended in a tough loss, Danial Williams is looking at the positive side of his fight with Miado. It was another opportunity for him to test himself against the best guys in the division.

While he has had a good year competing in MMA, Danial Williams still has one eye on returning to his striking background to once again compete in Muay Thai or kickboxing under the ONE Championship banner.
