Ervin Santana, Mike Leake, and Jason Vargas are all pitchers who don’t strike out a ton but have won a lot of games and pitched in dominant manners often throughout the season. Michael Pineda, Sonny Gray, and Marco Estrada offer more Ks but are a bit more volatile.

If you really want to get boom-or-busty, Trevor Bauer, Jon Gray (in Colorado), and Edinson Volquez are also starting today. Consider Bauer is facing the facing the Padres, he will likely be a pretty popular option.

We have a 12-game main slate tonight, which does come with some weather concerns. The game in St. Louis (Marlins-Cardinals) is the main one to watch currently. The Tigers, Rangers, and Rockies are all projected to score over six runs on our Vegas odds page  Arizona is the only team projected for under three runs, and the Reds projected total has dropped a half a run since it’s opening total already.

Overall, this slate is very wide open. The Playbook will consist of some top and value options today, and your lineup routes may be based more on the site pricing over any must-plays tonight. Good luck!

Top Narratives:

  1.  Aaron Judge is one homer shy of the Yankee’s rookie HR record set by Joe DiMaggio back in 1936.

  2.  The Indians were shut out last night for the third time in their past eight home games, but they are projected to score over five runs once again tonight.

  3.  Houston has scored 480 runs already this season and is averaging 8.6 runs over its past six.

  4.  The Twins are 43-40 but have the lowest amount of home wins in the AL this year. – Ben Scherr
